Ingredients for Pinoy Style Baked Macaroni with White Sauce
- 1 lb elbow macaroni
- 1 Knorr Beef Cube
- 1/2 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb ground pork
- 1/2 cup red bell pepper, chopped
- 1/2 cup green bell pepper, chopped
- 15 oz tomato sauce
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, chopped
- 2 tsp sugar
- Salt, to taste
- Ground black pepper, to taste
- 3 tbsp cooking oil
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup salted butter
- 2 cups milk
- 3 1/2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
How to cook Pinoy Style Baked Macaroni with White Sauce
- 1.Cook macaroni according to package directions, drain, and set aside. Heat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- 2.Sauté onion and garlic in oil until soft. Brown ground beef and pork, then add red and green bell peppers.
- 3.Stir in Beef Cube, tomato sauce, and water. Cover and simmer over low-medium heat for 20 to 25 minutes; season with sugar, salt, and pepper.
- 4.Melt butter, stir in flour for 1 minute, then gradually whisk in milk and half the cheddar. Cook until thickened.
- 5.Toss macaroni with meat sauce and remaining cheese. Transfer to a baking dish, spread white sauce over top, and bake 15 to 20 minutes.
