Ginisang Puso ng Saging
Ginisang Puso ng Saging pairs tender banana heart with pork and sotanghon in a savory sauté.

Ingredients for Ginisang Puso ng Saging
- 1 banana heart
- 8 oz pork, thinly sliced
- 1 Knorr Pork Cube
- 2 oz vermicelli (sotanghon)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- 5 cups water, divided
- 3 tbsp cooking oil
- 1 tbsp salt
- Fish sauce, to taste
- Ground black pepper, to taste
How to cook Ginisang Puso ng Saging
- 1.Thinly slice the banana heart. Soak in vinegar, 1 cup water, and salt for 10–20 minutes; drain and squeeze out the liquid.
- 2.Soak sotanghon in 2 cups water for 12 minutes, then drain.
- 3.Sauté garlic and onion in oil until soft. Add pork and cook until browned.
- 4.Add 1 cup water, cover, and cook over low-medium heat until the liquid evaporates.
- 5.Sauté banana heart for 2 minutes. Add sotanghon, remaining 1 cup water, and the pork cube; cover and simmer until reduced by half and tender.
- 6.Season with fish sauce and pepper; add a little water if needed to soften the banana heart, then serve with rice.
