Tuna Pie
Tuna Pie is a crisp, shallow-fried bread pocket filled with creamy tuna and melted processed cheese.

Ingredients for Tuna Pie
- 8 slices bread
- 4 processed cheese slices, cut in half
- 3 eggs, lightly beaten
- Panko breadcrumbs, for coating
- Oil, for shallow-frying
- 182 g canned tuna in oil, drained
- 3 tbsp carrot, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp white onion, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp pickle relish
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
How to cook Tuna Pie
- 1.Mix tuna, carrot, onion, mayonnaise, pickle relish, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- 2.Place beaten eggs in a shallow bowl and panko on a wide plate.
- 3.Flatten each bread slice with a rolling pin.
- 4.Place filling on one half of each slice, top with half a cheese slice, fold, and firmly crimp edges with a fork.
- 5.Dip each pie in egg, then coat evenly in panko.
- 6.Shallow-fry over medium heat until both sides are crisp and golden brown.
- 7.Drain on paper towels and serve warm.
