Ginataang Halo Halo
Ginataang Halo Halo is a creamy coconut dessert of root vegetables, saba bananas, sago, and chewy rice balls.

Ingredients for Ginataang Halo Halo
- 6 cardaba bananas, cubed
- 2 cups glutinous rice flour
- 4 medium sweet potatoes, cubed
- 6 small taro, cubed
- 1 1/2 cups cooked tapioca pearls
- 1 cup ripe jackfruit, sliced
- 1.2 liters coconut milk
- Sugar or preferred sweetener, to taste
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4–1 cup water
How to cook Ginataang Halo Halo
- 1.Gradually mix water into glutinous rice flour until a firm, shapeable dough forms. Roll into 1.5 cm balls.
- 2.Bring coconut milk to a boil in a pot, then lower heat. Add taro and simmer 5 minutes for small taro or 10 minutes for larger pieces.
- 3.Add jackfruit and sweet potatoes; simmer 5 minutes.
- 4.Add bananas, rice balls, and tapioca pearls. Gently stir and simmer 5 minutes to prevent sticking.
- 5.Stir in sugar and salt to taste. Serve warm or chilled.
