Saba con Yelo
Saba con Yelo combines caramel-scented sweet saba, syrup, crushed ice, and evaporated milk.

Ingredients for Saba con Yelo
- 6 medium ripe saba bananas, sliced
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 3 cups water
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Evaporated milk, for serving
- Crushed ice, for serving
How to cook Saba con Yelo
- 1.Cook 1 tbsp brown sugar in a saucepan over medium heat until melted and lightly caramelized, without burning it.
- 2.Add water and bring to a boil. Stir in remaining brown sugar, salt, and vanilla until dissolved, then simmer 10 minutes.
- 3.Add saba and cook 10 to 15 minutes until tender but still holding their shape.
- 4.Cool completely, preferably overnight. Fill glasses with crushed ice, spoon over saba and syrup, and drizzle with evaporated milk.
