Pilipit
Pilipit is a twisted fried pastry glazed with a thin, sweet sugar coating.

Ingredients for Pilipit
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup evaporated milk
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- Oil, for deep-frying
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup water
How to cook Pilipit
- 1.Sift flour, salt, and baking powder into a bowl. Mix evaporated milk with the beaten egg separately.
- 2.Pour milk mixture into dry ingredients and knead until smooth. Cover with a damp cloth and rest 15 minutes.
- 3.Divide dough in half. Flatten each piece, cut into 1/2-inch strips, roll thinner, join ends, and twist; rest 20 to 30 minutes.
- 4.Heat oil to 180°C and deep-fry twists until golden brown. Drain on a wire rack.
- 5.Cook powdered sugar and water over medium heat until fully dissolved. Dip pastries in glaze and return to the rack until dry.
