Kamaro
Kamaro is a Pampanga dish of edible mole crickets simmered with garlic, then pan-fried with tomato and onion.

Ingredients for Kamaro
- 1 cup cleaned food-grade mole crickets (kamaro), legs and wings removed
- 1 cup water or light broth
- 4 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 medium tomato, chopped
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1/4 tsp salt, or to taste
How to cook Kamaro
- 1.Rinse the prepared kamaro and drain well.
- 2.Bring the water or broth and crushed garlic to a simmer; add the crickets and cook for 5 minutes.
- 3.Drain the crickets. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and soften the onion and tomato for 3 to 4 minutes.
- 4.Add the crickets and pan-fry, stirring, until browned and crisp and cooked through, about 5 to 7 minutes.
- 5.Season lightly with salt and serve hot.
